FAQS

GENERAL FAQS

How do you work & why is your fash fair + sustainable + green?
Well well well let us start with a subject that is dear to my heart. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the fashion industry and the fact that, with my label and as a consumer, I am part of and maintainer of one of the most polluting industries in the world. How to deal with that!? It feels weird and not okay to buy new fabrics, make new clothes, while preaching fair & green fashion and a better world. If i don’t know where my new fabrics come from and under what circumstances they are made, what does fair and green mean to me?
So, thats why in 2020 I’ve decided to take responsibility and from now on only use fabric scraps and second-hand clothing (from which i try to find the origin as much as possible) to make my collections. This means: no new water consumption, no water pollution, no shady working conditions! All clothing is made in Amsterdam, which means: No CO2 emissions for production! A little bit of CO2 emissions for shipping, but if the shipping address is in Rotterdam or Amsterdam i will deliver by bike.

I also want to make my work process more transparent. I noticed people often don’t realize how many actions are in a single garment and how much time it takes. Therefore it’s not surprising many people think ten euros is a good price for a t-shirt. With every piece, I will try to make a list of the time and money I spent on it. Hopefully i can help fashion in becoming valuable and man-made again instead of an abstract product without emotion.

Help me do this and say YES to: conscious consuming / no water consumption / cleaner water / transparent and honest working conditions / fair wages / local production = low CO2
in doing this, you’re saying NO to: excessive unnecessary consumption / excessive water consumption / water pollution (plastic soup) / non-transparant working conditions / exploitation of employees / maintaining poverty / foreign production = high CO2 emissions

I truly believe we can make a difference!!!!

How do i know my size?
All sizes are be-au-ti-ful but when you order an item and it’s not the right size for you it feels very very wrong. So how do we tackle this problemo!
First of, with every item on the webshop there’s info on the size; which ready-to-wear size it is plus the cm of the waist, the length of the items from shoulder to hem + from waist to hem. If you have a measuring tape holla i love you, measure your waist (smallest part that goes around the belly and the back) and your length and if you don’t have one check a few items in your closet that suit you well and compare the sizes with each other. Different companies hold different size charts, for instance H&M’s 40 is bigger than Zara’s 40. But they’re both crap! Buy local! Buy small designer brands! But for the sake of the example i will name ’em. You see the size chart i use below.
And if you have a question, email me, we can always make a fitting appointment!

How do i take care of the clothes?
Good question!! Taking care of your clothes the right way i Do this and your clothes will last longer:
– firstly, muy importante: wash as little as possible. Do you have to wash your item after you’ve worn it once? Hell no!
– wash your more delicate logocomo’s in a washing bag and also wash the items that are not 100% natural fibers (cotton / silk / linen)  in a washing bag, preferably  in the guppy bag. The guppy bag reduces fibre shedding and protects your clothes, it filters the microfibres that do break and doesn’t lose any fibres itself. If you don’t have one a normal washing bag also helps a little 🙂
– gentle machine wash 30′
– wash with similar colours
– with stains, treat the stain first and then throw in the machine, otherwise you may have to wash it a second time 🙁
– wash inside out and close zippers & buttons
– use your washing machine’s eco-mode if it has one (saves up to 40% energy)
– don’t use your dryer, just let the clothes hang over your door / on your washing rack / over your chairs / on your balcony. Looks so cute and sooo much better for the environment.

Do you make custom orders?
Yes sir i dooo. I can always make my designs in other available fabrics so contact me if you see something you like but just not in that shade or print. I also do costume design / prop design so if you want something crazy (see my project page) call me!

Do you hire interns?
Yes pleazzeee interns save my life everyday! Email me if you’d like to do an internship with me and i’ll check if we can make it work.

Do you sell your clothes in offline stores?
No, because my clothes are often unique pieces and a lot of stores rather work with multiple items of the same design in different sizes. But who knows what the future might bring 🙂 I do partake in pop-up-shops regularly (follow my insta @logocomo for updates!) and you can find me on ProjectCece

After completion of your order, you will receive an email from us confirming your order. Transit times do not include Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. All orders will be shipped as a package, including track and trace number.  Shipping prices are calculated during the check-out process and are based on quantity purchased and your location.
I stated the 10 days because of the availability . If i already have the item, i’ll probably ship it within a day or 2, but if i have to make an item it’s gonna take a bit more time (sounds logical right).

FANTOOMPIJN FAQS

NEW ORDER DEADLINE IS 29-10-2021 23:59

FANTOOMPIJN is a supersustainable wearable art collection that i made with Studio Kling
Fantoompijn translated to English is: Phantom limb pain: refers to ongoing painful sensations that seem to be coming from the part of the limb that is no longer there. The limb is gone, but the pain is real. The limb for us refers to rave culture & nightlife and we experience the complete lack of it as an almost physical loss.

Why is Fantoompijn green & fair?
Me and Joni started Fantoompijn because we felt there were no really really cool garments to wear that are also sustainable. So we started a line ourselves!
Normally i only work with deadstock or secondhand clothing but for this collection we wanted to have enough fabric to be able to do different sizes and more than one piece obviously. Thats why we chose to order and print fabric at House of U, a textile printing company in the Netherlands. They have a wide range of sustainable fabrics and we chose to print on fabrics made from recycled pet i.e. recycled pet bottles! The fabrics we use have the GRS (global recycled standard) quality mark & the ink they use is GOTS certified. How’s that for sustainable!

How does Fantoompijn shipping & ordering work? Why is shipping different with Fantoompijn? What does pre-order mean?
For Fantoompijn we work with a pre-order system to reduce waste & eliminate deadstock. What to do with a lot of pants & shirts laying around because we made too many? Right, nothing! It’s all very unnecessary and also a lot of lost time. So we’re just not doin’ it! We only produce what is ordered. Better for us, better for you and so much better for the environment.
Because of the pre-order system, shipping may take longer than you’re used to.
Here’s how it works: We set a deadline every 1st of the month > after the order-deadline > we order the fabric we need > about two weeks later the fabric is delivered > we’ll start producing right away in our atelier in Rotterdam > this takes about one week > then we send it to you (if you live in Rotterdam or Amsterdam (within ring A10) we deliver your order by bike, otherwise we send it via the post)
So for instance, if the deadline is 1st
of august then your beauty will be ready & shipped around the 24th of August! Not that long for a handmade superconscious timeless art piece that you can put on your body and look fabulous in 🙂
We will keep you updated on every step in the process & please please please! check your size before ordering babessss so we can eliminate waste together. Let’s be the change we want to see in da world.
If you’d rather try before you buy, you can always come by the studio and try on the sample collection!

What is my Fantoompijn size?
All the Fantoompijn clothes are non-gendered and we invented a whole new sizing-table to get rid of negative emotions attached to certain sizes! All sizes are and will forever be evenly beautiful.
Because Fantoompijn is inspired by rave culture in the nineties, we decided to pay hommage to places that are forever in our hearts, whether we’ve been there or not.
Below you can see the size chart, search for your classic (boring) size and you see what new awesome size you belong to at this moment! Have fun feeling good!

Also, with every Fantoompijn-item on the webshop there’s info on the size;  the width of the waist, waistband and/or chest, the sleeve length, the length of the items from shoulder to hem + from waist to hem etc. If you have a measuring tape holla we love you and if you don’t have one check a few items in your closet that resemble in a way the piece you want to order and check and compare the sizes with each other. Different companies hold different size charts, so its good to check if there’s a difference. If you’d rather try before you buy, you can always come by the studio and try on the sample collection!
Please check your size before ordering! We really really want to be the change we want to see in the world, and we try to eliminate all deadstock with the pre-order system.
